Charles "Bud" Hillard

Charles "Bud" Wade Hillard was born in Sebastopol on July 19, 1925. He graduated from Analy in 1943. He then took a drafting course at Stanford University and was subsequently employed as a Tanker Draftsman at Bektel's Marin Ship in Sausalito during the war. He graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College in 1946 with a degree in accounting. On May 26, 1949, Bud and Nordine Adele Leary were married. They had no children. Bud was an accountant for William Edman, his stepfather, the Ford dealer, until 1967 when he became self employed in the automotive business. In 1981 they moved to Etna where they constructed a new home. Bud loved to fish for steelhead, but in his later years he was forced to restrain his physical activity due to having Hemophilia. He enjoyed tying flies for Nordine and was involved in lapidary, the interest coming from Nordine's background in Geology. Bud died on March 23, 1990 in Etna, California.
