Marvin “Babe” Nott

Master mason and sports fan.

Marvin “Babe” Nott died surrounded by family on April 14, 2007, after a courageous four-year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was 69. The youngest of 12 children, he grew up on Martinelli Road. in Forestville. He was a member of the Class of 1956 at Analy High School, where he starred in football and other sports.

Nott was also an expert abalone diver, starting when dive suits were in their infancy.

Nott worked as a mason with his brother-in-law, Joe Furia for 36 years.

He is survived by his children Mark Nott, Lance Hamley, Richard Middleton, Douglas Middleton, Scott Middleton (wife Acela), and Michelle Nott-Evans (husband Kirby.)

He is also survied by eight grandchildern and siblings Harold Nott, Arlene Bowein, Virginia Furia, Virgil Nott, Wes Nott, Pat Garrison and Al (Bub) Nott.

Nott was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lillian Nott, and his siblings Madelyn Gardner, Eileen Wedge, John Nott, and Marilyn Nott.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Nott's life, on Sunday, June 10, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Forestville Youth Park.
