My dear cousin, Louese, died from ovarian cancer on 9/11/06. It was very quick, just three weeks after diagnosis.

She moved to San Jose California from Sebastopol in the 1970's. Though never married, she was a life long career woman holding administrative secretarial positions in the field of real estate, insurance and travel. This last enabled her to see much of the world and I'd often get post cards from Rio, or Montreal or Germany. It was always a delightful surprise to keep up with her globetrotting.In fact in her last years she and I were "addicted" to Amazing Race" and I miss her weekly phone calls during which we'd discuss the latest events on that show as well as in our lives. It's interesting that she chose 9/11 to depart this earth. The date of heroes.
