Jeanette (Robert) McAlister

Jeanette (Robert) McAlister died at her Atascadero home on March 2, following a battle with cancer. She was 52. McAlister was born Dec. 5, 1954 in Sebastopol, California and graduated from Analy High School in 1973. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, in 1973. The newlyweds moved to Atascadero in 1976. She was a homemaker, expert seamstress, backyard gardener and community volunteer. She also was a talented musician who played the accordion and was teaching herself to play the violin.

McAlister is survived by her loving husband Jeff; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Marisa McAlister and granddaughter Marlee of Atascadero; daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Ronny Kennedy and granddaughters Annabelle and Danica, of Morro Bay. She is also survived by her mother Doris Robert of Sebastopol; sisters Carolyn O'Leary and Gloria Epperson; brother Steve Robert; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dayton Carlos Robert “Bud”; father and mother in-law Ed and Dollie McAlister; and her grandmother Anna Davis.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at the Atascadero Elks Lodge on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of the Central Coast, 227 South St., Suite R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 or City of Hope, 1500 East Duarte Road, Duarte, CA., 91010.
